And I always cringe when they spell the school's name wrong. It's Caltech, not Cal Tech. I'm surprised that in 2007 students were so blase about the ratio being "just a fact of life" - for the most part we were frustrated with it when I was there, but recognized there was no easy solution, any more than there is an easy solution to the gender imbalance in the sciences in general. As an alumna, I always find it interesting to read an outsider’s perspective of ‘tech. And I always cringe when they spell the school’s name wrong. It’s Caltech, not Cal Tech.
