Not all students find the right college fit the first time through the process.

Taylor was a student who came to me last fall seeking guidance. He had gone through the entire admissions process on his own with his family and school his senior year of high school, decided on the university he wanted to attend, went to orientation and then decided it was not the right school for him. Upon this realization, he sought out my guidance to help him find a new school that would better fit his goals of finding a school with a fashion program. Listen to what Taylor has to say here:

“Honestly, I speak six languages and still can’t find enough words to express how thankful I am to Juliet Giglio for helping me through the graduate admissions process.

As an international student from a country where the educational system is completely different from the one in the US, I thought I had set my aspirations too high when decided to apply to an LL.M. program at an American law school. But I have found Montgomery Educational Services and I have never regretted my choice.

Juliet was very helpful, thoughtful, easy going, and extremely supportive. I very much appreciate that she found ways for us to communicate disregarding the ten-hour difference between our countries, and that she was very patient and understanding while explaining all the peculiarities of an American admissions process to me. Juliet took my case as her own, she helped me polish my essays and transform them into some quite solid parts of my applications. Weekend or vacation, she was working it through with me, keeping me up with my deadlines. Whatever issues came up, she was there to make a call and help me make everything work.

It is thanks to Juliet, her dedication and positive attitude, that I was accepted to several great law schools and will be attending one this fall.

Dear Katherine,

I am not sure how we can ever thank you for all of your time and patience that you shared with such care with Amy. Having that final count down of ”Amy at 5PM you will pick a college,” was a terrific idea and I am currently using that technique in other areas of her life. Amy seems very happy with her decision. I have spoken with a professor at Arkansas a couple of times and he will make sure that her college years will be great ones and he is excited to work with her. Amy has her suite all locked in and her classes set in stone for her 1st semester. Wow. We have all calmed down a lot since the decision was made. On to graduation…

Hi Katherine,

Heather had a great trip to Boston this week, with orientation at Northeastern and several days of skating with her new team. So far everything is looking great, and we wanted to thank you especially for helping Heather to achieve her objectives of finding a great school where she will feel at home and also the opportunity to keep skating competitively. I know this wasn’t easy, but all the work the two of you did really paid off in the end. I guess the take home message is that if you can define what you want, you can get there.

I want to thank you and Katherine for helping Gina with her college planning and application process. As a business owner I don’t have a lot of time so I need to hire professionals. It lifted quite a burden off of my shoulders to be able to hire a team who already knew the ropes and who could identify where to apply and just as importantly, which places that were not a “good fit” for my daughter, Gina. Katherine helped Gina every step of the way, and she was able to secure merit aid to 7 colleges, which greatly expanded her college choices. Gina is a Freshman now and she is happy and confident that she chose the correct school. This is probably the best money I have ever spent as a parent. Thank you so much for your help.

She’s also a very good student.

When it came time to choose a college, she contacted me for some help. Together we made a plan, implemented it, and sat back to wait. It didn’t take long to hear back from colleges that were interested in her.
