Montgomery Educational Consulting’s Senior Associate Consultant, Cara Ray, will be presenting at the annual conference for the Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling in Salt Lake City, Utah at the end of the month. The conference brings together high school counselors, admissions counselors, and independent educational consultants from the Rocky Mountain region to discuss current issues in college admissions.
The presentation is titled “Pardon the Interruption- Let’s Play By The Rule: A Debate and Discussion Surrounding Admissions Best Practices and Code of Ethics.” Ms. Ray will be co-presenting along with the Director of Admissions at the University of Utah, Matthew Lopez, and Vice Chancellor for Enrollment and Director of Admission at the University of Denver, Todd Rinehart.
As the Admissions Practices Chair for the Rocky Mountain Association for College Admission Counseling, Ms. Ray spends time making sure that admissions ethics are being upheld according to the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s (NACAC) Statement of Principals of Good Practice (SPGP).
The presentation will be geared toward both seasoned and new admissions professionals and high school counselors and will use a variety of case studies to spark discussion on issues ranging from deadlines, deposits, waitlists, “fast apps”, incentives, and student privacy.
