At Great College Advice, our mission is to provide students and families with personalized, expert guidance throughout the college admissions journey. Our counselors help students understand themselves, identify what matters most in a college experience, and discover schools where they can thrive. We then guide students through every stage of the application process – from developing their college list and crafting compelling essays to presenting their experiences and accomplishments authentically.
At Great College Advice, we believe students should be firmly in charge of their educational future. Our role is not to make decisions for them, but to provide the insight, tools, structure, and encouragement they need to make thoughtful decisions for themselves. Great College Advice is an independent college consulting firm specializing in personalized college admissions counseling for high school students and their families. Since 2007, Great College Advice has helped thousands of students across the United States and in more than 45 countries navigate the college admissions process. Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the company also has counselors and offices in New Jersey, Chicago, North Carolina, and Massachusetts.
Great College Advice takes a highly collaborative approach to college counseling. Our experienced consultants regularly share ideas, perspectives, and best practices to develop thoughtful strategies for individual students. This collaborative model gives each student access to the collective expertise of the Great College Advice team while maintaining a personalized relationship with their primary counselor.

How We Define Success
At Great College Advice, we define college admissions success in a variety of ways. But the most important measure of our success is the happiness and satisfaction of our students and families. Results are important, however, and we are pleased that over the past three years, 97% of our students have been accepted to one of their top three college choices. We are also proud that our students applying to highly selective colleges and universities such as Dartmouth, Duke, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and Yale are 3 to 10 times more likely to be accepted.
However, Great College Advice’s real goal is to deliver a transformative college planning process with long term effects. We are never more gratified than when our students and families share with us how much they have learned through the process—about higher education, about the world, and about themselves.
