Our Approach

Great College Advice helps students discover the educational alternatives that are right for them.

An Approach as Unique as You

We specialize in YOU and your educational journey. At Great College Advice® we believe that all students should be firmly in charge of their educational future. We provide the tools and guidance for students to make their own decisions about what is important to them as they explore their options, weigh family priorities, and navigate the admissions process.

We don’t have right answers. We don’t have a list of the “right” colleges. Rather, the counselors at Great College Advice help students discover the educational alternatives that are right for them. Then we give them the tools to plot their course to arrive at their chosen educational destination.

Furthermore, we don’t approach this process as a one-size-fits-all solution to college counseling. Each student is different, and each family situation is different. Therefore, we carefully customize each student’s program to match the student’s needs, abilities, and aspirations.  Our comprehensive counseling services provide everything necessary for a student to be successful.

Ultimately, this process is less about winning a particular prize than it is about growing and learning about oneself. Our goal for each student is to create opportunities in which the student will be happy, successful, and (eventually!) prosperous.

Our Success

At Great College Advice, we measure the success of our college admissions counseling in the happiness and satisfaction of our students and their families. Each of our students is different, and each pursues his or her own path. Not every student is headed in the same direction. So it is difficult to quantify or develop meaningful statistics that express our success in advising our students.

That said, in the past three years, 97% of our students have been admitted to one of their top three choices.

In addition, while not every one of our students is aiming for the most selective colleges and universities in the country, Great College Advice has had great success in helping students get into the top tier schools in the country, including the Ivy League (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, and the University of Pennsylvania), Stanford, Tufts, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and many others. Our students gain admission to these schools at 3 to 10 times the normal admissions rates.

While we are proud of our statistics, we are prouder of the individual victories and triumphs each of our students experiences along the road to college.

The results are important, but the process is paramount. Great College Advice delivers a transformative college preparation process with long-lasting effects.
