Karisa Hunt is the executive assistant to the college counseling professionals at Great College Advice®. She is motivated to help people get the best education possible; she holds multiple degrees in education ranging from early elementary through high school and has also completed coursework to teach English as a foreign language.

An Editing Pro

During her time at the University of Pennsylvania, Karisa had the chance to hone her writing and editing skills. She spent years as a freelance editor, working with documents ranging from admissions essays to doctoral theses. She understands what it takes to get from a rough draft to the perfectly honed admissions essay. Karisa is an invaluable resource to our team of college counseling professionals.

A Research Whiz

Karisa assists the team with all types of research in the field of higher education. Whether it’s finding elusive information about certain colleges, looking into the best summer programs for different students, or investigating the ins and outs of tricky application specifics, Karisa is the go-to problem solver for our team of college counseling professionals.

A Diverse Thinker

As an educator, Karisa has worked in schools in urban and rural settings and everything in between. This helps her understand the diverse backgrounds and different needs that students can have. She spent a summer teaching English to ten-year-old students in Ecuador, which helped her develop a true sense of the global learning community. She is well-prepared to serve as a college counseling professional to the many international students who partner with Great College Advice.

Karisa lives in Denver, Colorado with her two cats, Mozzarella and Ivy Belle. She is an avid hockey fan who enjoys baking cookies of all types and making her way through challenging knitting patterns. Karisa likes hitting all the high notes on musical soundtracks, and can often be found curled up with a good book in her free time. I can’t stop looking at his grinning face in the photo we took last night right after he found out.
