College Admissions Consultants
We advise students and their families for selective college admissions. Since 2006, the team of college admissions consultants at Great College Advice® has provided affordable and comprehensive guidance to hundreds of students from across the United States and around the world.
Our mission is to provide students and families the highest standard of assistance in the college selection and admissions process. We assist students in finding the college that best fits their abilities, interests, and aspirations. We guide students as they complete their applications, write their essays, and present themselves in the best light throughout the admissions process.
Our focus is on the entire process of preparing for college, selecting the right schools, and crafting winning applications. While we care about results, deliver a process that is transformational. The experience of preparing for life’s next big step is itself an opportunity learn–about the world, about community, and about oneself. The college process is not just about the offer of admission–it is about preparing young people for life-long success.
Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, we have offices in New Jersey, Oregon, and Washington, D.C. We offer our services via state-of-the-art teleconferencing, and can meet with students in our local areas. We use a best-in-class software platform to help our students stay organized. We believe in leveraging technology to help our students be efficient and effective as they plan for college.
Our Approach to College Counseling
We specialize in YOU and your educational journey. We believe that every student should be firmly in charge of their educational future. We provide the tools and guidance for students to make their own decisions about what is important to them as they explore their options, weigh family priorities, and navigate the admissions process.
We don’t have right answers. We don’t have a list of the “right” colleges. Rather, we help students discover the educational alternatives that are right for them. Then we give them the tools plot their course to help and arrive at their chosen educational destination.
Furthermore, we don’t approach this process as a one-size-fits-all solution to college counseling. Each student is different, and each family situation is different. Therefore we carefully customize each student’s program to match the students needs, abilities, and aspirations. Our comprehensive counseling services provide everything a student needs to be successful.
Ultimately, this process is less about winning a particular prize than it is about growing and learning about oneself. Our goal for each student is to create opportunities in which the student will be happy, successful, and (eventually!) prosperous.
We measure the success of our college admissions advice in the happiness and satisfaction of our students and their families. Each of our students is different, and each pursue his or her own path. Not every student is headed in the same direction. So it is difficult to quantify or develop meaningful statistics that express our success in advising our students.
That said, in the past three years, 97% of our students have been admitted to one of their top three choices.
In addition, while not every one of our students is aiming for the most selective colleges and universities in the country, we have had great success in helping our students get into the top tier schools in the country, including the Ivy League (Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell, and the University of Pennsylvania), Stanford, Tufts, Northwestern, Univesrity of Chicago, and many others. Our students gain admission to these schools 3 to 10 times the normal admissions rates of these schools.
While we are proud of our statistics, we are much more proud of the individual victories and triumphs each of our students experiences along the road to college.
The results are important, but the process is paramount. We endeavor to create a transformative college preparation process with long-lasting effects.

As a national and international firm, we have had the pleasure of working with students in all sorts of contexts. For example, we have worked with students attending some of the premier public high schools in the United States, including Lexington High School (MA), Pacific Palisades High School (CA), Stuyvesant High School (NY), Radnor Senior High School (PA), and many, many others. However, we have also worked with students in rural high schools, as well as urban and suburban high schools in 47 of the 50 states (we’re still hoping to work with students from Alaska, Mississippi, and Kentucky!).
We have also worked with students attending some of the most prestigious private boarding schools, including Philips Andover, Philips Exeter, Choate Rosemary Hall, the Emma Willard School, Northfield Mount Herman, the Hill School, the Cate School, Lawrenceville Academy, and many others.
Among the high schools our international students have attended are the Chinese International School (HK), the Island School (HK), Hong Kong International School, Centre International de Valbonne (France), Geelong Grammar (Australia), Istanbul International Community School (Turkey), Harrow School (UK), Beijing 101 High School (China), Shanghai American School (China), Jumeirah English Speaking School (Dubai), and the International School of Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and several campuses of the United World Colleges. Our team of college admissions consultants works together to leverage their knowledge and experience to help make the entire admissions process both productive and successful. At the core, we are educators, with experience as classroom teachers, professors, academic advisers, admissions officers, writers, and marketers. We understand what it takes to succeed in the highly-charged, competitive atmosphere of college admissions.
At the same time, we share a highly collaborative approach. Within our group, we share ideas, talk about how best to help particular students, and cooperate to ensure that every one of our clients benefits from our collective expertise. Our aim is to provide more than just college admissions advice. We aim to provide educational wisdom.
A Record of Educational Success
Our team is comprised of highly educated college admissions consultants. While we have had a variety of educational and professional experiences, we all have attended some of the most selective colleges and universities in the country, including Dartmouth, Stanford, Tufts, and the University of Pennsylvania. All of us have earned graduate degrees or have received advanced training in education.
Furthermore, we are each committed to our own professional development, whether it be through membership in relevant professional associations, participation in conferences in for admissions professionals, and reading and research in higher education.
What sets our college admissions advice apart, however, is our collective dedication to life-long learning. A college education represents an enormous opportunity to learn and grow. But that learning and growing never stops, and each of us continues to expand our minds, pursues new and challenging experiences, and relishes in new discoveries.
