Nathan Phillips, an incoming University of San Diego freshman is currently biking his way to campus. His 1,450 mile trek will began in Astoria, Oregon and will end at the USD campus on August 25th.
Phillips is raising money for Invisible Children, an organization that benefits children who have been used as soldiers in Central Africa. In a recent USD press release, Phillips comments how he has visited Uganda and seen the how the war has affected the children there.
This is an awesome reminder of how powerful our youth can be. What an amazing commitment Nathan is making to this cause. As a USD Alumna, I am thrilled that he is attending my alma mater.
Safe travels Nathan!
