Liz Beindorff Joins Montgomery Educational Consulting as Director of Operations

Montgomery Educational Consulting is delighted to announce that Liz Beindoff has joined the firm as Director of Operations.  Her broad responsibilities include developing processes and systems to continue to strengthen the firm’s ability to deliver great college advice to its expanding list of national and international clients.
Liz has proven expertise in building strong, caring relationships with both clients and colleagues, an asset that has always guided her professional life.
While at the University of Denver’s Korbel School of International Studies, Liz served as the Director of the World Affairs Challenge, an academic enrichment program for middle and high school students that began in Colorado and expanded to several other states under her leadership. She wrote grants to government agencies and philanthropic foundations, directed a small board of dedicated volunteers, and supervised student staff and interns. In addition to the World Affairs Challenge, Liz also worked on many other K-12 educational projects, including the International Studies Schools Association.
“I’m thrilled that Liz has decided to join the firm,” says Dr. Mark Montgomery, President of Montgomery Educational Consulting.  “We worked together for several years at the University of Denver, and we made a great team.  I know she will be an incredible asset to our consultants and to our clients.”
Prior to working at DU, Liz helped to manage two national grants for teacher professional development in the Social Studies through the Colorado Department of Education (CDE). She was the Associate Director of a National Geographic Society Summer Institute, which brought together teachers from around the country to beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where they engaged in hands-on geography education under the guidance of university professors. Liz also organized several state-wide training institutes for teachers of History, Geography, and Civics.
Before immersing herself in education, Liz spent 5 years in the corporate arena working for MCI Communications. During her time at MCI, Liz sharpened her customer service skills through managing customers’ accounts and providing quality monitoring feedback to sales and service representatives. She also facilitated new hire sales and customer service training, developed training modules, and provided skills coaching. Before leaving the company, Liz worked as a Promotional Communications Writer, part of the marketing department that recognized employee achievements through an internal magazine and news video, as well as communicating new products and services within the company.
Liz is most excited when working as part of a dynamic and productive team on efforts that have particular focus on helping and empowering others to thrive. In addition to her 12+ years of program management experience, she has worked with pre-K through grade 12 students in Colorado who either have special needs or are considered otherwise to be at-risk. A recent graduate of the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, Liz has solid knowledge of child and adolescent development, as well as of family dynamics and counseling. She is preparing to provide pro-bono mental health services to women and children at The Gathering Place in Denver, and also enjoys rewarding part-time work as the Denver Public Schools Disability Services Coordinator for the district’s Head Start program.
“I’m so excited to be able to blend my background in management, communications, and organization with my education as a social worker,” says Ms. Beindorff.  “I know that Montgomery Educational Consulting already offers great college advice to students from all over Colorado, the country, and world. I look forward to developing new and better ways to continue expand the firm’s reach, particularly in under served communities.”
Liz obtained a BA in English Literature from Cornell College and a MSW from the University of Denver. She is a licensed social worker in the state of Colorado and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She and her husband live in the Denver metro area.
