InsiderHigherEd.com ran an article yesterday on early yield reports from a handful of schools.  While most colleges and universities are still counting their deposits, a few schools were able to comment on the status of their incoming class. Yield is the percentage of admitted applicants who decide to deposit at a particular school.  The article states that this  year, yield seemed largely dependent on career prospects and financial aid.  While some schools also reported that they focused more on students who truly showed interests in the college.  The increasing focus on student interest is going to make it even more crucial for students to put some time and effort into their applications!
