Some Cool Assitive Technology: Audible.com

DefaultImage

Over the years, I’ve read a lot of articles about assistive technology (AT).  And a number of them have proven the efficacy of AT for students with learning challenges.  While AT won’t cure or eliminate a disability, it will level the playing field and allow your student the opportunity to reach her potential.  Today I want to focus on a product called Audible.com, which is an internet services that provides digital versions of audiobooks and audio programs (magazines, podcasts, speeches, etc).  With Audible.com, users can listen to text in a variety of formats like CDs or MP3 downloads, so you can transfer downloaded titles to your iPod®, Zune®, or other player. You can also stream your titles from a computer or burn them on a CD.  It’s affordable, easy to use and engaging.
